Dana Alink has been telling stories with her art since the latter half of the 20th century. By referencing fantasy and a modern take on academic painting, she looks for a connection between viewers and herself. Her work explores colour as well as emotion – a fictional universe that emerges gradually.

Her first animated short films responded to the surrounding environment and her interests in the human psyche. They were created at the University of the Arts Utrecht, where she graduated with her short film Tidy Town in 2020 which she directed, wrote, and produced. Driven by an endless string of ideas, she is currently working on several film plans, focusing on emotion and personal experience.

Dana Alink currently lives and works in Utrecht, the Netherlands, with her partner and cats.
